Tata Motors, India's largest automobile manufacturer, unveiled the Tata Xover, a "crossover" vehicle concept, at the 75th Geneva Auto Show. Tata is building its first-ever MUV the Xover The Indicruz will compete with the Toyota Innova and the Mahindra Xylo. The vehicle showcases Tata's ideas of a modern crossover, a strong emerging segment globally. For the consumer, the Tata Xover will blend the benefits of a family-friendly luxury car with refined driving dynamics (having features like GPS tracking system) and the visual cues of an activity-oriented sports utility vehicle.

The Tata Xover, a 4.85-meter car, uses a rugged frame-based design with large interior space and flexible seating that can comfortably accomodate up to 7 adults and generous cargo area. Configured to be fitted with a range of Euro IV engines including Tata Motors' own next generation power-trains, the car would offer traction control, climate control with personalized zones, GPS navigation system, driver-, passenger- and side-airbags, anti-lock braking system, 4 wheel drive and other comfort, convenience and safety options.

The Tata Xover features the 32-bit 2.2-litre 16 valve DICOR engine which even powers the Tata Safari DICOR, Sumo Grande and the Xenon XT. The engine has two variants, one which produces 140bhp and the other which produces 120bhp. We predict Tata to increase the power of the Xover to 170bhp.Sporting 17-inch wheels, the car's superior ride-comfort and handling will be ensured by independent double wishbone coil spring suspension with a stabilizer bar in front, and a five-link suspension with coil springs and stabilizer bar at the rear.

TATA ELGANTE

Tata Motors, India’s largest automobile company, and the only Indian automobile company to participate in the Geneva Auto Show regularly for the last 10 years, today unveiled the Tata Elegante, a sedan based on an all-new platform.
Tata Motors has developed a portfolio of cars, enriched with contemporary features. Several of the design cues of the Tata Elegante are incorporated (like GPS, cruise control etc) in the forthcoming generation of Indica and Indigo cars.”

The Tata Elegante, larger than the current Indigo sedan, is conceptualized to incorporate 4 cylinder transverse petrol and diesel engines from 1.4 liters through to 2 liters and a compact V6 petrol power unit. Common rail direct injection turbo diesel engines with variable valve timing and capabilities to comply with Euro V emissions norms will also be available. Power varies from 90 to 200 PS with torque of upto 280 Nm. Transmission options include 6 speed manual and automatic gearboxes.

Besides meeting all European safety, crash-worthiness and emission standards, the Tata Elegante’s features include satellite GPS tracking system, cruise control, integrated blue tooth compatibility, heated mirrors, rain sensor, front and rear parking sensors, and many other contemporary features.
