Bertone Sports Car Jaguar B99 GT 2011

Do you want a vehicle with an amazing speed and has a plush and sturdy design as well as being the fastest car on the race track. Technological development has become one of the fator that forced the producers to create a work that is different from the others. A work that is able to attract consumers to immediately have it and become one of the must-have product. Jaguar has thrived on such a powerful duality for decades, 2011 Bertone Jaguar B99 GT combining the subtleties of exclusive luxury cars perfectly suited to evening the red carpet and brute force predator like full race car perfectly suited to the race track’s free kick. For this reason 2011 Bertone Jaguar B99 GT decided to transform the B99 elegant luxury saloon into a Monster GT race track. The 2011 Bertone Jaguar B99 GT is one of the stars of the 2010 Geneva motor show. Designed as a concept for a compact Jaguar, boasts a rather muscular body, one that combines the appearance of a XJ sedan with more classical influences such as futuristic eco lights front and rear.

The Bertone Jaguar B99 GT has a carbonfibre splitter, diffuser and flat undertray are matched with a massive bootlid wing.  There’s enormous side-exit exhausts for the range-extender generator, a 100mm lowering job and a lurid green paintjob. The giant front spoiler pulls in the cooling air while the giant rear extractor returns it. The side spoilers are filled with giant exhaust side pipes. The rear spoiler is a traditional bi-level race spoiler. The graphics are in bright fluorescent green in contrast with the silver body and the carbon fiber aerodynamics components. The roofline has been shortened and lowered in proportion to a conventional three-box body, inspired by a Jaguar cat stalking its prey. The car’s visual mass has been placed over the rear wheel, providing a ‘hip muscle’ that works with the forward-leaning grille and front end to resemble a predator ready to strike.

The Bertone Jaguar B99 GT has suicide rear doors swing open to reveal a four-seater interior trimmed in dark brown leather. There is extensive use of Ebony Makassar wood trim – flat on the dashboard and console, textured with a ripple effect on the door panels.  The instrument panel and armrests are suspended above the dashboard and console to create a floating effect. The current Jaguar retractable shift dial is retained, and a central infotainment system screen is concealed behind a wooden trip panel when not in use. If only Bertone had styled the rear view LCD displays with similar care – their rectangular leather-trimmed bezels are at odds with the gently-curved forms used extensively in the interior, and their A-pillar mounts look like an afterthought

The Bertone Jaguar B99 GT has a range-extender hybrid system that powers the B99.  Consisting of two 150kW electric motors mounted on the rear axles, and a 200bhp combustion engine, offering 70mpg range and 30g/km of CO2 emissions.  In EV mode, the B99 is claimed to have a 100 mile range. Bertone Jaguar B99 GT with two additional electric motors faced mean that GT has 972bhp all wheel drive capability.

Bertone B99 Jaguar 2011

It was one of the big surprises of last week’s 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the Jaguar B99 sedan concept that had nothing do with Jaguar whatsoever. What makes the concept’s gestation even more surprising was that it was developed by financial stricken Italian design house Stile Bertone, a firm that one would assume can ill afford to splurge on random concept cars.

Given its dimensions and shape, many suggested the B99 was Bertone’s take on the long-rumored successor to the Jaguar X-Type and may even have been commissioned by Jaguar to drum up excitement for a new entry-level sedan model. Unfortunately, despite its tasteful styling, Jaguar is quick to point out that it had nothing to do with the project and it by no means hints at a new small sedan model from the British marque.

Speaking with Automotive News, Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar's global brand director, said: "It is not our concept. We appreciate the fact that Jaguar is interesting enough for people to do a concept around. It's not that we are offended by it, or against it--it is just not for us."

So why would Bertone go to such great lengths to build a concept of a car that will never be built? The practice is common among niche design houses in Italy and has been done so for many years. It is a way for the design house to attract potential customers by showing off its talents in a concept vehicle that’s eye-catching and easily recognizable.

Unfortunately for Bertone, its B99 concept, though stylish, is easily forgettable. Let’s hope that Bertone still has some luck with it.

2009 Bertone Mantide Revealed Specs, News, and Review...

Very little of the Corvette's original lines remain on the 2009 Bertone Mantide Revealed, which is a teardrop-shaped coupe that takes inspiration from airplanes and Formula One cars, and possibly from a few places we can't even imagine. The radical design features a strong hood wrapped by dramatic flying buttresses at the Kamm-tailed rear. The fender flares and lines flowing through lines are reminiscent of the air intakes of a jet fighter, and blend with the functional air intakes that feed the engine and other components.

The passenger cabin of 2009 Bertone Mantide Revealed looks like a canopy, and the two-tone paint and butterfly doors play off of this resemblance. Amazingly, the design isn't just driven by appearance; the Mantide has undergone wind tunnel development and boasts a super-slippery 0.298 coefficient of drag and a 30% increase in downforce (Stile Bertone is not specific as to whether this increase is relative to the stock Corvette or to earlier versions of the Mantide's design).
2009 Bertone Mantide Revealed looks the part of a cutting-edge supercar, and the chassis ensures that it can deliver on that promise. The supercharged LS9 engine and Nurburgring-bred chassis of the 2009 Corvette ZR1 are just the beginning. 2009 Bertone Mantide Revealed has carbon fiber body panels all around, as well as lightweight wheels, interior panels and racing seats. It's 100 kilos lighter than a stock ZR1. An FIA roll cage and four-point harnesses have also been installed. Between the diet and the improved aerodynamics, the Mantide improves upon the Corvette's performance significantly: 0-62 mph comes up in 3.2 seconds, and this car will run all the way up to 351 km/h (217 mph).

Bertone's Baby-Jaguar B99 Concept Looks Surprisingly Good

[Updated with high-res pictures] After the teaser image we showed you earlier today, the first three images of Bertone's design study for a compact Jaguar, hit the web. Dubbed B99 (for the 99th anniversary of Bertone) the eye-catching concept car has a sleek coupe profile, even though it's a four-door sedan. The suicide doors give it a distinctive appearance, but if Jaguar were to build a production model, it's unlikely that they would remain.

While it might look like a long limousine, the Italian design house's B99 concept is just 4.5 meters long. Combine this with the very low height (1.35 meters) and the pretty wide body (1.95 meters) and you have a small sedan looking like a much bigger and more luxurious model, whose profile brings to mind the classic Jaguar XJ.

The very thin A-pillars, the narrow windows and the short front overhang give the car a dynamic yet classy look, while the front and the rear mirror each other, with very thin headlights/taillights and an oval grille whose form is replicated in the back. Inside, the B99 appears to offer a classy environment, mixing brushed aluminium with leather and polished African walnut trim.

Under the hood, the concept sports sedan is said to feature a newly developed full-hybrid drive, but further details remain unknown.
